Jane Nettleton graduated from the University of British Columbia (UBC) Okanagan with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics in 2017. Following UBC – Okanagan she moved to Melbourne, Australia to complete her Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Deakin University. Her aim was to learn more from the world renowned exercise science system on how to help all populations advance their quality of life using exercise as medicine. 

Following the completion of her Master’s in 2019, Jane travelled back to Canada and has worked as a kinesiologist and exercise physiologist in private practices around the Okanagan before making the move to Vancouver Island. She also lectures in the Human Kinetics undergraduate program at the University of British Columbia Okanagan.

Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology

As a Kinesiologist and Exercise Physiologist, Jane has a strong knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, neuroscience and psychology. She draws on this knowledge to assess and treat patients. Her wide scope of practice and expertise in human movement makes Jane an excellent option for athletic/sport performance, injury rehabilitation/prevention, and occupational rehabilitation/fitness. Clinical Focus

Jane Nettleton specializes in working with clinical populations such as those with cardiopulmonary, neurological, cancer, and metabolic conditions. She has a passion for musculoskeletal injuries, women’s health and healthy aging clients to help increase overall health using exercise prescription and finding enjoyable activities to keep moving. Jane also uses her kinesiology experience to help those injured at work or in motor vehicle accidents to return to work and a better quality of life. Her passion for treating all populations is welcomed in Ladysmith.

Personal Info

Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Jane has been slowly moving more westward in Canada. It started in small town Alberta, then to the Okanagan and now Vancouver Island.  The west coast lifestyle treats Jane’s pursuits as she loves the outdoors. In her free time, she enjoys camping, traveling, hiking, and keeping active with her dogs. She is keen to become more part of our Ladysmith community.
