Katie Marks is a born and raised islander who loves spending her spare time outdoors with her pups. She thoroughly enjoys hiking, yoga, kayaking and trail running. Working with her Ladysmith community is something Katie has always been passionate about and she believes in giving back.

Katie spent 5 years working at a local social enterprise empowering adults with developmental disabilities through meaningful workplace duties. This is where her love for health and well-being began, eventually leading her to the West College College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT). During her time at WCCMT, she learned anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, general orthopaedic testing and mastery level massage training. While in school, Katie worked in palliative care facilities as well as the in-reach clinic, giving her the opportunity to work on patients living with Parkinson’s, cancer, fibromyalgia and chronic pain syndromes. Many of Katie’s patients experienced deep relief, becoming one of Katie’s favourite schooling experiences. Katie has volunteered and performed sports based treatments on various athletes as well. Sporting event experience includes the Comox half marathon, Cowichan women’s flag football tournaments and rowing regattas.

Katie is experienced in working with varying abilities and fitness levels. She strives to build adaptable treatment plans with realistic home care recommendations for optimal health and recovery. Katie is excited to apply her skills in developing the mind-body connection as well as functional movement for all walks of life in her Ladysmith community.
